CELEBRATING THE LEGACY OF ROLAND BRUYERE

A TITAN OF LACROSSE AND A CHERISHED COMMUNITY MEMBER

Roland, affectionately known as Rolly, was a beacon of love, strength, and dedication in every facet of his life, from the lacrosse field to the heart of his family. Rolly's illustrious career in the sport of lacrosse saw him inducted into the Manitoba Lacrosse Hall of Fame not once, but three times. A testament to his skill, dedication, and influence in the game. Roland was inducted as a member of the Manitoba 1990 Division 1 Junior Field Lacrosse Champions, Manitoba 1995 Division 2 Senior Field Lacrosse Champions, and Manito a 1995 NAIG Gold Medal winning team.

The high point of his career was being selected to  represent Canada East at the XV Commonwealth Games in Victoria.

In honour of Roland's remarkable contribution to the sport of lacrosse in Manitoba and his community, the Manitoba Lacrosse Association would like to announce the renaming of the Male Athlete of the Year Award to the Roland Bruyere Memorial Award. This award will be bestowed annually to the individual who best exemplifies  the spirit of dedication, excellence, and athletic ability that embodied.
