TIME FOR 2024 INDUCTIONS

The next induction to the Manitoba Lacrosse Hall of Fame will be in the Fall of 2024. If you have someone in your organization that you believe is worthy of a place in the Hall. Go to the nomination page on our website and provide the required information. If you do not have all the details that is okay as the Hall will do further research to ensure each nominee has a complete nomination form. Deadline for nominations is March 15, 2024. List below are the 4 categories of the Hall and the criteria for nomination:

RULES AND CRITERIA OF THE SELECTION PROCESS

The original rules and criteria were adopted by the Manitoba Lacrosse hall of Fame in 2010. These rules and criteria were adapted in 2012 to more clearly articulate the process and the criteria for selection into the Hall of Fame. After completing the selection process for the 2022 Induction, the selection committee felt the criteria and the process of applying the criteria should be clarified so as to make the process more easily understood. To this end the information in this document reflects the recommendations made by the 2022 selection committee.

CATEGORIES OF MEMBERSHIP: There shall be four categories for induction to the Manitoba Lacrosse Hall of Fame:

  • Player- To recognize achievements of outstanding lacrosse players who learned and developed their skills within the Province of Manitoba.
  • Builder- To recognize the contribution. Leadship, and abilities of individuals to the development and organization of the sport of lacrosse at the local, provincial, and national level.
  • Team- To recognize outstanding accomplihments of teams at the local, provincial,national, or international level.
  • Player/ builder- To recognize the achievements as a player and contribution as a leader in the sport of lacrosse in Manitoba.

ELIGIBILITY & CRITERIA IN THE PLAYER CATEGORY

  • Have from the age of 15 years compiled an outstanding performance record with notable personal and team achievements while competing at the high school, junior, senior, college, international and/or professional levels
  • The period of outstanding performance should be for a minimum of 6 years
  • Have developed his/her skills in the Manitoba minor and/or high school lacrosse system and/or resided in the province during the period for which outstanding performance is claimed.
  • Have represented the game of lacrosse with distinction in competition, either in or out of Manitoba; brought credit to the sport.
  • Has not been known to be convicted for an indictable offense
  • Have retired from competing as a player and attained the minimum age of 40 years.

 

ELIGIBILITY & CRITERIA IN THE BUILDER CATEGORY

  • Have been active in one or more capacities serving lacrosse, such as coach, manager, executive /director, and/ or referee.
  • The period of contribution should be for a minimum of 8 years
  • Have represented the game of lacrosse with distinction in competition, either in or out of Manitoba; brought credit to the sport.
  • Has not been known to be convicted for an indictable offense
  • Have attained the minimum age of 40 years.

ELIGIBILITY & CRITERIA IN THE TEAM CATEGORY

  • Have from the age of 15 years compiled an outstanding performance record with notable team achievements while competing at the high school, junior, senior, college, and international levels
  • The period of outstanding performance could range from 1 year (competing/ winning national or international championship) to years of superior performance (winning successive city, provincial, national championships)
  • Have represented the game of lacrosse with distinction in competition, either in or out of Manitoba; brought credit to the sport.
  • Has not been known to be convicted for an indictable offense
  • Have retired from competing as a team and attained the minimum age of 40 years

ELIGIBILITY & CRITERIA IN THE PLAYER/ BUILDER CATEGORY

  • Have from the age of 15 years compiled an outstanding performance record with notable personal and team achievements while competing at the high school, junior, senior, college, international and/or professional levels
  • The period of outstanding performance should be for a minimum of 6 years
  • Have developed his/her skills in the Manitoba minor and/or high school lacrosse system and/or resided in the province during the period for which outstanding performance is claimed.
  • Have been active in one or more capacities serving lacrosse, such as coach, manager, executive /administrator, and/ or referee.
  • The period of contribution should be for a minimum of 6 years
  • Have represented the game of lacrosse with distinction in competition, either in or out of Manitoba; brought credit to the sport.
  • Has not been known to be convicted for an indictable offense
  • Have attained the minimum age of 40 years.
