Considered one of the finest netminders in Canada during the 1920s and 30s, Frank Hawkins had an outstanding career in Field lacrosse before taking up the the box game. He played on four Provincial championship teams.
His outstanding play earned him a spot on the 1932 Canadian Olympic squad. Later that year, he would lead the Winnipeg Argos team to the Mann Cup final.
